Listed below are some of the more common techniques and modalities that are used in a massage session.   will work with you to design a session that fits your individual needs.

If you don't see a specific type of massage or if you have questions about what is listed , please ask.

Swedish (sometimes called European massage) focuses on manipulating muscle tissue, using strokes, movements and pressure to help the muscles to relax, to improve blood and lymph circulation, to give greater mobility of muscles and joints and to assist in the repair of injuries.

Deep-Tissue  This type of  massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas.

Prenatal/Pregnancy  Safe, nurturing massage techniques are adapted to each stage of pregnancy. This tranquil massage will aalleviate pressure on the joints, reduce swelling in the legs, relieve lower back pain and aid the body during this special time of transformation in a woman's life.

Aromatherapy   Pure essential oils will take you on a scentual journey while Swedish massage techniques will relax the body, improve circulation and reduce stress. This is the perfect introduction to massage therapy.

Reflexology  utilizes reflex points of the feet and hands that correspond to every muscle, nerve, organ gland and bone in the body by pressing on those points.  As a result blockages and toxins are released.

Shiatsu or Acupressure  is founded on the traditional Chinese medicine meridian system, aiming to improve muscle condition as well as promote the healthy flow of energy. Techniques include finger pressure, kneading, and gentle stretching.  It  is a traditional Chinese technique of applying finger pressure to specific points along acupuncture meridians to promote healing and alleviate fatigue.

Trigger Point Therapy  is a method that applies concentrated finger pressure to trigger points to break cycles of spasm and pain. A trigger point is an irritated area in muscle fibers that when compressed may elicit pain or a twitching response.

Active Isolated Stretching  is gentle and active, meaning you initiate a stretch, with the therapist guiding you and assisting to take you progressively slightly further with each repetition of the stretch

Chair Massage  while you sit on a specialized massage chair, the massage focuses on the back, neck, shoulders, arms and hands, while you remain clothed.
